Upload and download functions allow sharing listing data
among members of an association, through the usage of
a Realty Vision istallation as a hub. Data to be uploaded
can be selected by entering the listing numbers manually
or by using simple selection criteria, such as the listings
modified since a certain date, etc.
- Along with the listing data, users may send a non-private message to the hub, which is broadcast
to all participants of a listing exchange organization on a daily basis.
- The entire modem communications process is fully automated, activated by a single mouse click.
User ID, password, etc. are fetched from user profiles and a visible progress gauge is displayed.
- Upload and download processes can be delayed by setting a timer and can access multiple hubs,
allowing users to belong to many listing associations and integrate all listings in a single database.
The download process is also fully automated, allowing timed
execution and access to multiple hubs. It also keeps track of
the last dowload date and fills in the next date for downloading,
skipping any dates that fall on week-ends.
Daily upload and download files are compressed for speedy
transmissions. Decompressing of files, validation of received
data and updating of your local files are done off-line, without
unnecessarily occupying your modem line.
- Daily hotsheets produced by Realy Vision are fully automated and are prepared without human
intervention. They itemize all changes at individual field level.
- The daily messages and hotsheets may simply be viewed on the screen or printed as reports, if
the user wishes to keep a paper file of the daily activities.
- Realty Vision frees you from having to connect to a central computer at slow modem speeds for
many hours each day. Its hub-node approach updates your system in a few minutes, lets you
use your computer at full speed for the rest of the day and also reduces your phone expenses.
Realty Vision keeps track of all steps of the daily upload and
download processes in a log file. This helps users in keeping
their local databases properly updated.
Additionally, a hub-node syncronizing feature compares your
listings database with the one at the hub, alerting you of any
discrepancies which may result, for example, from forgetting
to upload any changes you make to a listing in your local file.
- The log file may be viewed and printed as needed. In time, when it grows beyond a certain size,
Realty Vision displays a message recommending the user to delete the older parts of the file,
which can be done with text editing functions available right in the viewing screen.
- Each Realty Vision node is self-sufficent and locally contains all data available through a listing
exchange association type organization. This makes Realty Vision catastrophy proof. Even in
a case where the hub data files couldn't be restored from backups, they can be recreated with
data from nodes. If it is ever necessary, a well maintained node can easily be reconfigured to
act as a hub to other nodes, eliminating down-times often associated with on-line systems.
Realty Vision node functions can also be done using floppy
diskettes. In offices with several computers, only one needs
to have a modem to upload and download files, which could
then be copied onto other computers using floppy diskettes.
This is expecially a useful and an expense saving feature in
rural areas where long distance charges may be applicable
even when calling places only a couple of miles away.
