HypestGammon was invented by Murat Kalinyaprak in January 2020,
as a variant with 0% checker skill and 100% cube skill to fully isolate
and expose the so-called "cube skill" in gamblegammon variants.
It is played with only one checker per player and rolling a single die.
Since all checker moves are "forced" and require "zero checker skill",
only "cube skill" in making doubling decisions effects the outcome.
HypestGammon can be a great tool for teaching the concept of using
a doubling cube in gamblegammon to beginners, as well as for doing
experiments to explore how it affects the checker skill and/or the luck
elements in backgammon. Unfortunately, HypestGammon has not yet
been implemented as a variant in any existing bots or servers.
